Mary Meeker’s Latest Drop: Trends - AI report 2025

Mary Meeker's latest AI report provides some much needed perspective. Numbers without context are just numbers. It’s all relative. We’ve been drowning in hype without the full picture. The Bond report provides the context to help make sense of where we're heading.

AI Adoption is incredibly fast - ChatGPT hit 365B annual searches in under 2 years. It took Google 11 years to reach that milestone. Records are made to be broken, but this isn't just about speed. Technical maturity today is exponentially greater than it was during Google's first decade. We're not starting from zero, we're building on decades of technical infrastructure that didn't exist during Google's early days.

The opportunity is real, but only if you can answer: What use case are you solving with AI?

It’s not "we're using AI to transform everything” or "AI will revolutionize our industry." This is obvious. The real question is, what problem are you solving? How will you use AI to solve it?

After working with 24+ startups, I've seen this pattern: leadership thinks they know their customer and customer’s pain points. The data backed reality is always different. With AI, that gap gets expensive fast, prioritizing revenue potential instead of solving actual customer problems leads to expensive solutions that aren’t relevant.

Intention beats innovation. We are at reflection point where we can rethink the role of humans and redefine what role we play. This is a phenomenal time to build, but with intention.

What use case is your AI unlocking? How will you use AI to redefine your role?
